What do you want to talk about, who do you want to talk to, why are you important to your audience? We'll build a PR plan to target the right people – online, in print, on broadcast and across social – and deliver that audience. Like a PR agency, but leaner and meaner.
Whether you are new to dealing with media and nervous, or a battle-hardened campaigner honing your skills, our media training adapts to your needs. Learn how to handle interviews, answer awkward questions and present yourself more assertively.
Political comms and strategy should go hand-in-hand, and we excel at both, working inside the Westminster bubble with politicians and outside with campaign groups. From manifestos to public relations fire-fighting, we love a political challenge. Underdogs welcome.
When things go wrong, you'd better have calm, experienced help to hand quickly. We can be a public relations buffer between you and the media, helping you get the right messages out. We can also help you draw up a crisis plan. You do have a crisis plan, don't you?
You know most of them never get read, even the good ones, yes? Still, they remain a PR agency staple, and writing them from a journalist's perspective will boost your chances of being read. We create and share releases, and train you how to write better ones.
Performance Mode is the persona you adopt when you are interviewed, talk in public, address teams and suchlike. It's affected by nerves, projection, experience, confidence and a lot more.
Our media training unlocks improvements, and transforms your comms.
Execs have a much more public role than was once the case, delivering on multiple platforms, building trust with customers and employees. We design bespoke courses to develop key public relations skills, from Zoom to live stage, from what is said to how and why it is said.
Too often the poor relation in the communications family, internal comms can make or break your organisation. In high-stress situations, clear and trusted internal comms are essential. In less stressful times ... they're still essential. Talk to us about your
in-house public relations.
Words and pictures drive what we do, and we're good at them. Happily for you, we don't mind clients taking credit for our media and public relations work, be it must-read web content, reports, ghost written pieces, strategy docs, manifestos or that punchy CEO speech.
Kenny brings 20+ years of experience at the sharp end of media, including 13 years as Editor of Britain's most popular newspaper, Metro, and senior positions at titles including the Daily Mail and Express.
He's also got a decade of PR and comms under his belt, and understands communications from both inside and outside the media bubble.
As well as consumer and in-house communications, Kenny is also a strategic comms specialist, having helped drive high-profile campaigns and political leadership bids, from the development of manifestos through to dealing with the daily opportunities and crises of such operations.
And he'll operate well with you and your team – one public relations client called him 'the kindest person I've ever worked with'.
Howard is an award-winning PR/news consultant, media trainer and industry commentator, with two decades of experience at some of Britain's top public relations agencies.
A former national newspaper journalist, he has a deep understanding of the fast developing media landscape, matched with peerless copywriting, news generation and media relations skills.
Howard was creative and team lead behind a PR Week PR Campaign of the Year, SABREs EMEA Consumer Campaign of the Year, and a global Cannes Lions.
His media training is unbeatable and his clients have included celebrities, pop stars, Starbucks, Morrisons and Coca-Cola Enterprises.
His political experience includes being comms director for several Remain campaigns, working alongside high-profile MPs and stakeholders.
He also has a cracking black book of contacts.
Whether you need coaching, coverage, content or cunning, we take on projects we know we can deliver to a high standard (though we do like a challenge). Unlike some public relations types, we don't over-complicate matters – time and budgets are too precious for that.
Work with us and you'll be dealing only with our directors. If we think we'd benefit from additional expertise, we'll bring it in as needed, and you won't ever find yourself in the hands of junior PR agency staff – because we don't have junior PR agency staff.
We operate wherever we are needed, without permanent offices, and that's no accident. By keeping our overheads to a minimum, we keep our costs under tight control which, in turn, means we can offer far better value to you.
Pepshop is all about bringing vibrance and energy to your communications – the world, after all, is not black and white. Bringing in a bit of our public relations buzz is good for you and your team; happily, it makes our days better too.
We're happy to work with those who play safe in their communications, which is most of you out there. But ... we relish trickier public relations challenges, and don't shy away from controversy. Give us a try and see – handled carefully (that's where we come in), risk brings bigger rewards,
We're fans of organisations that try to make the world a better place and bring people together, and we don't care if that makes us sound woke – it's good to give a damn. Whether your group is big and experienced, or small and a bit overwhelmed by the whole media-publicity thing, we'd love to help. We work with groups such as the Windrush 75 Network, which is raising the profile of the 75th anniversary of the Windrush arrival this summer.
The backbone of the country, SMEs such as Mind Of My Own, which makes a fantastic suite of apps to help young people communicate their feelings, can take huge steps forward with carefully-managed public relations and communication strategies.
We know times are tough and budgets are tight, so talk to us to see how we can get your message out there while your competitors are cutting back.
Big businesses such as Starbucks inevitably have comms operations in place but use us for special projects, media outreach or specific media training. We're nimble, focused and, helpfully, a valuable resource there only when you need us. Whether your in-house team is looking for extra firepower or specialist expertise, we'll give you maximum value for your budget.

Getting media cut-through in politics isn't as easy as it can seem for the big players. We've run communications in party leadership races, London Mayor campaigns, cross-party APPGs in Westminster and more besides. For example, we helped deliver more coverage for independent candidate Brian Rose in London than the Lib Dems and Greens combined – that's what a pinch of our peppy political public relations can do.
When it comes to working with campaigns, we roll up our sleeves and get stuck in. If that means helping with a march, or getting along to a gathering to support speakers, count us in. We built our experience with groups including internationalists such as Best for Britain and March for Change, through more traditional campaigns such as Save British Farming, to higher-risk public relations operations like Extinction Rebellion.
The best communicators really work at their comms craft, either by doing a lot of it, putting in plenty of challenging practice or, most often, a combination of both.
We provide a toolbox of techniques to take your senior team's media and public speaking skillset to the next level. And we practice what we preach, putting ourselves in the line of fire to keep our media training grounded in real-world experience.
Our core media training is designed around a set of flexible modules, so we can adapt to individual and group needs easily. Our courses are enjoyable and challenging, to ensure you get the most possible out of your time, and so we look forward to running them too.
Although we can train you in a studio setting, we find a regular room is usually better for general training ... and kinder to budgets too.
